Background Tony Mevius

Practically born into the gym, as the son of a successful gymnastics coach, sports defined Tony Mevius' life from an early age. At the age of 9, already away from home and at the Berlin Sports School, the rather own artistic gymnast dedicated his life to competitive sports until 1998. Numerous successes at German Championships, as a member of the Junior National Team and the Team Gym European Championships crowned his athletic career. Even during his subsequent studies in sports science, Tony Mevius could not let go of one thought. He wanted to create something bigger, something lasting, something of his own. The vision was to inspire not only the local audience in the gym, but preferably the whole world. So it was the logical consequence for him to found his own company in 2001 - Cosmic Artists. Away from high bar and rings into showbiz. After Cosmic Artists had made a name for itself step by step in the German event industry, it was time for Tony Mevius to learn from the best. In 2005, the renowned Cirque du Soleil hired the Berlin resident as its first German artistic gymnast ever. With the show "Quidam" Tony Mevius toured from continent to continent as aerial artist and character actor until 2011. Acrobatically perfectly trained and with a head full of ideas, Tony Mevius returned to Berlin in 2011, where he now dedicates all his energy and creativity to Cosmic Artists. Not only as a managing director, but also as a choreographer and artist, Tony Mevius continuously follows his dream of emotional and spectacular productions.
